The Firearm Licensing Authority began to accept applications for New Firearm User’s Licence, Firearm User’s (Special) Permits and Firearm User’s (Employee) Certificates as of Tuesday October 17 th, 2006.
Completed application Forms and supporting documents should be taken to the Firearm Licensing Authority where they will be checked, the applicant given an interview date or the option to complete the written asessment and the remaining portion of the interview.
Completed applications may also be submitted to the Authority through registered mail.
Only Applications that have been completed on Firearm
Licensing Authority FLA001A Forms will be accepted.
Persons with applications under the previous Authority (the Jamaica Constabulary Force) are asked to submit a new application to the present Authority (the Firearm Licensing Authority) as soon as possible.
Licence Fee (Application Fee) paid for Applications that had not been completely processed, under the previous Authority, may be used to accompany new applications.
